Test Drive Checklist

Test driving a car is probably the most important part of the car buying process. It allows you to get up close and personal to help make the big decision to buy the vehicle or not. That is why it is important to make sure you are covering all your basis and checking off all your needs and wants in a vehicle. We have created a checklist to help you do just that and make sure you are 100% happy when you drive off the lot!

Do Your Research Before - Narrow your selection ahead of time. Once you have an idea of the vehicle you want, do some research online. All vehicles come with different trim options – these are the extras as you go up or down in price. For example, the RAM 1500 is the make and model - then you pick the trim level which starts at the ST and goes up through SXT, Outdoorsman, Sport and so on. Once you have an idea of  make/model and trim, most dealerships will have a list of their current inventory on their website. Here you can narrow down to colours, trim level and extra options like sunroof etc. This will give you an idea of the stock available and if your dream car is waiting for you to test drive. Online isn’t always accurate, they may have just sold a car that is online or just got a new one in, so although this is a good step to take to be extra prepared, it is still a good idea to go into the dealership or call ahead for accuracy.

So now you’ve come to the dealership and you have found the vehicle your interested in and its time to take that test drive. Here are the things you need to lookout for. It is a good idea to either pull this checklist up during the test drive on your phone or print out this handy PDF and bring it with you - TEST_DRIVE_CHECKLIST.
